I rarely take the time to write reviews, and I wanted to spend some time really getting to know the Demi before sharing my thoughts. Now that I've had a chance to put it through its paces, I can confidently say that I absolutely love this machine. I bought the Terra Kaffe Demi hoping to replace my beloved Nespresso Vertuo and finally ditch the pods. I already owned a Breville milk frother, so I didn't need a larger machine with a built-in milk system. I just wanted something that could do what my Nespresso did: deliver fast, EASY, and delicious espresso and coffee without a lot of fuss. The Demi actually surpasses my Nespresso in all three categories. First, it's FAST. Even when I have to wake the machine from sleep mode, it's significantly faster than my Nespresso. A LOT faster. In fact, I now find myself waiting on my milk to finish frothing because the espresso is ready so quickly! Second, it's incredibly easy to use. Once you figure out your preferred settings, it's essentially a matter of turning a dial and pressing a button. And the machine practically takes care of itself. It tells you when to empty the used coffee pucks and drip tray, when to clean the brewer, when to descale, and even when to add water. That last feature is particularly appreciated because my Nespresso didn't warn me when the water was low. More than once, I ran out of water mid-brew and wasted a pod. For a machine that grinds fresh beans and brews real espresso, the Demi is remarkably easy to maintain. I've owned a manual espresso machine, and while those certainly have their place, that place is not in my life these days! I couldn't be happier with the convenience of a superautomatic machine. I get to pour in fresh beans, press a button, and let the Demi handle the grinding and brewing. On the espresso setting, I've programmed it to make a double. It grinds fresh beans for each shot before brewing, and the results are consistently delicious. And finally, the COFFEE. This is where the Demi really shines. I always knew I was making a compromise with Nespresso. I was willing to sacrifice some coffee quality in exchange for convenience and a decent shot of espresso. With the Demi, I no longer feel like I'm making that compromise. One of my favorite things has been exploring different coffee beans. With Nespresso, I had settled into a rotation of about three pods that I actually enjoyed drinking every day. Now an entirely new world of coffee has opened up, from popular espresso blends to freshly roasted beans from local roasters. I've been having a great time experimenting! I started out primarily drinking double espressos, but I've since gravitated toward lungos. The ability to customize the strength, temperature, grind, and other settings is wonderful. Once I find the combination I like, the Demi remembers it. I can make adjustments when I feel like experimenting, or simply press a button and get exactly the coffee I want. With my Nespresso, I generally alternated between a double espresso and a gran lungo pod. The Demi gives me that same flexibility, only now I have much more control over the results and an almost endless selection of beans to choose from. I really wasn't sure whether a bean-to-cup machine could match the simplicity of a pod machine. I certainly didn't expect one to be faster, easier, AND make better coffee. But that's exactly what I've found with the Demi. And perhaps the best part is that I've gotten rid of the expensive pods without giving up a single thing I loved about the convenience of my Nespresso. In fact, I've gained quite a bit. If you're a Nespresso lover who's been thinking about making the switch to fresh beans but doesn't want to become a home barista just to make your morning coffee, I can't recommend the Demi highly enough. I bought it hoping it would be a good replacement for my Nespresso. I ended up with a machine I like considerably more. No regrets whatsoever!

We had an expensive name brand espresso maker but could never get the espresso to pull just right. The rental program made it feel so easy to try the Terra Demi, to see if we liked it before committing to another extremely expensive machine. Add another upside- they had amazing color options, we were able to get a deep olive green one that matched our kitchen accent color perfect! The machine pulls the espresso so velvety and creamy, it’s extremely fast, has easy to use customizable settings for every drink, it’s easy to use, and also easy to learn how to clean and maintain, (even with the added support of a rental if anything goes wrong). We are so obsessed, we’ve both had to create ground rules around how many coffees we’re allowed to have in a day, because we’ve both developed a bit of a problem since our Demi arrived. We love Terra and our new Demi!

I was amazed by the quality of espresso and drip coffee that this machine can make at a press of a button. It was worth every penny. Easy to clean and maintain. Helps me get out of the house in the morning with a perfect latte in hand !
